Congratulations on taking your first step toward the title of Miss America 2027—and welcome to the Miss Washtenaw County Pageant family! We’re thrilled that you’re considering this exciting journey. Our pageant will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Chelsea High SchoolAuditorium, and we can’t wait to see what this new year brings.
Participating in a Miss America Local Preliminary is a unique and rewarding experience. As a contestant, you’ll build confidence, sharpen your interview and public speaking skills, make lifelong friends, and become part of the largest scholarship organization for young women in the country. Our Executive Board and committee are dedicated to providing you with a meaningful and enriching experience—as well as the opportunity to earn scholarship support.
That said, becoming a contestant also comes with responsibilities. Fall is a busy time filled with school, homework, and activities. Please consider your availability and commitment before submitting your application. Once your application is received, our team begins significant preparatory work—including pageant materials, interview schedules, and judges' packets—so we kindly ask that you make your decision with care.
We keep rehearsals to a minimum to respect your time, which means each meeting is vital. We expect all contestants to honor their commitments out of respect for fellow participants and our team.
Our Contestant Orientation is a relaxed and welcoming meeting where you’ll meet fellow contestants and learn about the Miss America Opportunity, the Miss Washtenaw County Scholarship Program, and important competition guidelines. Parents or friends are welcome to join you!
All eligibility and participation requirements are outlined in the Eligibility Requirements document and the CY 2027 Application and Agreement for Delegate and Titleholder Participation. Before orientation, you’ll need to complete registration with Miss America and submit your $30 local donation to the Go Red for Women Fundraiser. You’ll find all necessary links and details under the Eligibility Requirements tab on our website.
To help you prepare with confidence, we’re also offering an optional Info Session with dates to be announced soon. This is your chance to ask questions, receive feedback, and feel fully equipped for your pageant experience.
Our new Miss Washtenaw County 2026 will step into an incredible year of service and growth. She will represent our community and compete at Miss Michigan in Muskegon June 2026. This role is a job—and a meaningful one. With support from our Executive Board, Miss Washtenaw will develop her Community Service Initiative, make appearances, prepare for state competition, and return to perform at our 2027 Pageant. If you’re crowned, plan to meet with our Executive Director the day after the pageant to begin planning your exciting year ahead!
